STEPHEN NASH - Pianist
Information
"Born in Edinburgh 1959, classically-trained Stephen Nash learnt his trade through playing pub pianos in Birmingham. Following a move to London in the late 80's, he had a series of residencies in London bars and hotels, including the Criterion Brasserie and the Langham Hilton. He co-wrote several musicals and cabaret acts in which he acted as MD, and joined the London Gaelic Choir to research traditional Scottish songs. An offshoot from this was joining the Scottish Ceilidh band, Kirk Sessions.
Moving to Oxfordshire in 2000, he formed a jazz duo with saxophonist Sue Greenway, playing for private parties and weddings, and has worked with many other fine musicians and singers, including saxophonists Chuck Lloyd and Terry Ede, and recently the Colombian singer Patrissia Cuberos."
Stephen will provide his own electric piano and will play easy listening background music, or some modern melodic jazz, or light classics, or ragtime. Together with other musicians Stephen can provide music for a barn dance (or Ceilidh) if required.
